Yeah, I am kind of busy for the past few months due to the audit peak season, where most of my company's clients have a Dec 2009 or 31 March year end.

So might not be able to update my blog as frequent as I used to be.

Bukit Tinggi

I was in Bukit Tinggi during the long Christmas weekend.

It was a last minute decision to go to Bukit Tinggi as I didn't plan earlier, all the hotels around Malaysia were fully booked, so Bukit Tinggi is the only choice of vacation where I can drive back and forth on the same day.

I have totally no idea when was the last time I went to Bukit Tinggi, maybe I was too young at that time to remember, or I never been to there at all.

I drove up to Bukit Tinggi very early in the morning to avoid the crowd.

When I arrived at the first attraction of Bukit Tinggi, which is the Rabbit Park, I thought that I will be welcomed by the cool breeze of the highland, but I was wrong.

Bukit Tinggi was not as cool as I thought, maybe Bukit Tinggi highland is not high enough like Genting Highland and Cameron Highland, or maybe I drive too much until I created a massive global warming effect to the world.

The main attractions of Bukit Tinggi is the French-themed village called Colmar Tropicale and Japanese Tea Garden.

This under exposed photo makes Colmar Tropicale looked like a spooky castle.

The Colmar Tropicale is basically a hotel managed by Berjaya Corporation, one of the largest corporation in Malaysia.

If you are not staying in the hotel, then you have to pay RM10 ticket fee to visit Colmar Tropicale and Japanese Tea Garden.

Colmar Tropicale is a very special place, some may called it "Rojak" as you can feel like being in France and enjoy the tropical hot weather of Malaysia.

When you enter Colmar Tropicale, you can see lots of hotel rooms, restaurants, and souvenir shops. So I think the French-themed village is exactly like a hotel where you have rooms, restaurants and souvenir shops, just that it is prettier and more special with the French-themed idea.

But I still love the view of this place.

After getting bored of the French-themed hotel, I drove uphill to go to the Japanese Tea Garden.

The way up: very very steep slope, don't think my Proton can cope with it. Luckily, parking was available.

This Japanese Tea Garden was the world's first Japanese Tea House in the tropical forest, and I am the world's first person named Leong Yi Yang from Perlis to visit this Japanese Tea Garden. Don't play play.

The main attraction of this Japanese Tea Garden is that you can rent the traditional Japanese Kimono to wear on and take pictures with the Japanese styled little hut behind you. So that you can cheat your friends that you've been to Japan.

These are the fattest ever Koi fish I've ever seen ion my whole life.

Just spend a little money and you can make your friends to believe that you were in Japan, that's good consumer advice during this financial crisis.

There is also a Botanical Garden.

There is a viewing platform inside the Botanical Garden which makes you climb over the hills to reach the viewing platform where you'll be greeted with this view:

Not exactly a very good scenery, but it'll make you lose 10kg.

The expensive bungalows... One day Yi Yang... One day...

Bukit Tinggi is a very good place if you want to have a relaxing short trip away from the city without spending too much or drive too long on the highway. Just don't get yourself carried away by buying those over-priced souvenirs.

Bizzy Body Ambassador Search

This is late, I know, but I only have time to blog until now, was caught up by study in the past few weeks.

Amy entered into the Bizzy Body Ambassador Search last November in Sunway Pyramid.

It was a program where Bizzy Body, a fast growing slimming centre, search for their next year ambassador from their existing client. Amy was one of their customers and was chosen to take part in it.

Bizzy Body even invited their international spokeperson Jessica Hsuan (宣萱) to come over to Malaysia to buid up some hype for the event.

Amy was No. 3, I took a video of her but the internet connection is very slow, so uploading of the video is almost impossible...

There are some subsidiary titles for the contestants but I cannot remember the name of the titles, and there were 12 finalists to be chosen from the 24 contestants.

Although Amy didn't win but it was a good experience for her and she did made some good friends during the event.

Seeing Amy lost 10kg in Bizzy Body and still being healthy, I am thinking of signing up for the slimming program myself so that I can lost that "united 6 packs". Maybe... just maybe...

Long hoilday

I have 1 month plus of holiday ahead of me...

And yet I can't enjoy my holiday...

Because I have tonnes of notes to study for my coming ACCA P2 paper...

Kanasai.

My "understanding" friends say: "What la you, spending 1 whole month to study for a 3 hour paper."

I say: "Chiak Sai la, you try study and see."

Actually hor... studying for ACCA P2 paper for 1 month is more than enough, just as long as you:

1. study over your free time

2. listen in class, and

3. do homework.

But to be honest, I did none of the above.

I am lazy, I know.

Proton Impreza

This is the Subaru Impreza.

A performance car built by Subaru, looks ok but can go from 0 - 100km/h in 5 seconds.

This is Proton Saga.

An entry level sedan built by Proton, looks is also ok but can go from 0 - 100km/h in a million years.

However, someone in Malaysia decided to "transform" the Proton Saga into a performance machine by "upgrading" their front bumper, so that they can go as fast as the Subaru Impreza.

The new Impreza lookalike front bumper that can make your car go fast! Don't play play.

Yeah right...

Now the car looks fucking ugly and goes even slower with the added front bumper weight.

I wonder, what's wrong with an original looks of a Proton Saga?

If you buy a car, be proud of your own car, not transforming your car into another car so that you can let other people "think" that you have a another better car.

Double celebration in Cameron Highlands

This year's mid autumn festival and Amy's birthday was on the same day, I went to Amy's hometown Cameron Highlands to celebrate both occasions with Amy's family.

Her family bought some mooncakes for the celebration, and all of the mooncakes were very untraditional like what we have in the old days such as Lotus with egg yolk.

What they bought were some funky new flavours, watermelon, tiramisu, lemon, yam, macam-macam ada...

I think maybe in the near future we will have mooncakes with flavours such as "Durian skins with Petai flavour and Tiger biscuits fillings". Who knows, it might happen.

This is one very special delicacy during mid autumn festival, but I never seen it before...

The very next day, we went to the Sungei Palas Boh Tea Centre, which is a must visit place for me to unwind.

Although the tea there is exactly the same as the ones sold at Tesco or Giant, but drinking tea there with the cool breeze on your face is an enjoyment.

While we were preparing the tea, something "geli" showed up...

Looks like "chocolate cake" to me.

So please don't look at it if you want to enjoy your tea.

After a relaxing tea session, we got too bored and headed to the souvenir shop nearby where they sell macam-macam of Tea Boh products and Tea Boh related products such as T-shirts, key chain and those useless stuffs where you buy back for your friends and family as souvenirs.

Then I saw the Tea Boh mascot soft toys...

I wonder why they have to make the mascot soft toys with their eyes looking downwards...

Looks weird to me.

World's greatest parents

Wow, what a great dad, I thought.

The second hand smoke went directly to the baby's face.

And that's not it, sitting beside the father is the mother with a 2 year old kid on her lap, and with a cigarette on her fingertips.

Climbing the corporate ladder

A guy has been working in a multi national corporation for 3 years.

In the first year of his working life in the corporation, his was an office boy, he was involved in the delivery of documents to clients, help sending out mails, photocopying, proof reading, da pao lunch and dinner for his department head, as well as preparing Milo to everyone in his department.

In the second year of his working life, he was promoted to become a manager in his department. He involved in finding of new clients for the corporation, retaining existing clients, and as several major contracts leader.

In the third year of his working life, he was promoted to the department head position. He involved in shaping of overall business strategy, in charge of most of the corporation’s controls and meeting oversea clients to discuss on major contracts details.

In the fourth year of his working life, he was suddenly summoned into the Chairman’s office.

Chairman: “I am retiring soon, and I hope that you can take over my position as this company’s Chairman. You can have a huge salary increment, a company car with a driver, a company plane, and a sea-view bungalow on a mountain.”

The guy: “Erm…”

Chairman: “So what do you think?”

The guy is still silence.

1. The actress screams a lot

2. There will be "liquids" spread all over the body

3. Something will slowly stands up

4. Lots of jumping involved

5. Hospitals or schools are the favorite movie background

6. People will normally press the fast forward button halfway throughout the movie

7. People feel tired after the movie

8. Both these two movies are far better than the 8pm news

9. Normally we tend to concern more on the actresses instead of the actors

10. Most of the time there will be close up shots on the facial expression

11. You can watch it even though the storyline is crap

12. You can watch the climax of the movie straight away

13. You will get more "feel" if you watch it while cuddling with another people

14. For best effect, watch it during night time.

I am getting older

Shit, I think I am getting older.

When I was in university, I listened to radio stations like My FM or Hitz FM where I can listen to all the latest and hottest music.

Listening to these kinds of young generation radio stations makes me feel young as I can know all the new artistes with weird names like Flying Wheel Sea or something like that…

FYI, My FM and Hitz FM are famous for giving away concert tickets as their contests prizes. So everyday I am able to listen to all sorts of people singing songs on air so that they can win the concert tickets, and the worse part is they sing like erm… lets say it is better to leave something to the professionals.

After I stepped into the working world, I started to listen to Red FM or Mix FM where they play a mixture of new and old music. The new music keeps me updated so that I can act young while the old music keeps the “older” side of me satisfied.

I started to feel that I like to listen to old songs rather than the latest songs which I don’t really understand the lyrics at all.

I think it is the matter of time when I start to listen to Lite FM or even Ai FM where a lot of aunties will call in to discuss about which stalls in the market sell the cheaper vegetables.

I don't understand

One day while I was driving in KL, I was stuck in a massive traffic jam. The traffic was almost at a standstill, so everyone lined up properly in their own lane (miracle huh?) doing nothing but to stare at the stupid traffic jam ahead.

Suddenly I heard a loud siren coming from behind, a guy wearing a white uniform, riding a white, expensive powerful bike swerved in front of the traffic ahead. So I thought, finally, a policeman is coming to save the day by doing something that he does best to ease the stupid traffic jam.

How wrong was I, instead of easing the traffic jam, the policeman turned on his speaker on his bike, shouting furiously to all the cars:"Beri laluan, beri laluan!!!" (Give way).

The policeman then directed all the cars to move to the side of the road, leaving a big, empty car lane in the middle of the road. Everyone on the road was forced to the side of the road, creating a worse traffic jam.

Then, a fleet of the same big bike drove on the "cleared" road, making sure everyone was at the side of the road. Following behind the big bikes was a Volvo XC90 police car, all with their sirens on to the max. Behind the XC90 was a big, luxurious car, inside the car was someone who is the VVVVVVVVVVIP of the country. Behind the car was another XC90 police car and some big bikes making sure no one is taking advantage of the cleared road by following them behind.

After the VVVVVVVVVVIP gone past the traffic, we, the dispensable small time citizens are back to our miserable traffic jam again.

10 minutes later, I heard another siren coming from behind. This time it was an ambulance, alone. No big police bikes and XC90 to clear the road for the ambulance.

The pity ambulance had to squeeze in the middle of the traffic jam. I quickly gave way to the ambulance, but some drivers who forgot to bring their brains out that day stayed in the middle of the road, blocking the ambulance's way.

The ambulance had to on the siren to the max, while honking all the way through the traffic, the ambulance driver even had to open the window and swing his hand frantically so that those brainless drivers saw his hand and gave way.

To make matters worse, some drivers who did bring their brains out today but mistakenly shove their brains inside their assholes instead of their head followed behind the ambulance, taking advantage of the road cleared by the ambulance, this created a worse traffic jam as the cars that initially gave way to the ambulance cannot get back to the road.

In the end, the ambulance used more than 15 minutes just to drive past the traffic jam, to compare with the VVVVVVVVVVIP who used less than 30 seconds, it was very very slow.

You might think, the VVVVVVVVIP was an important person to the country, if he's late for some important meetings or opening ceremonies, our country might be conquered by the aliens. So, using a mass resources of the country to clear the road for the VVVVVVVVVVIP is very important.

So what about the ambulance? Someone is dying in the ambulance you know?

OK lah I agree that both human life and VVVVVVVVVVIP's meetings are equally important, at least in Malaysia, but why the VVVVVVVVVVIP can get so many resources to clear the road but not for the ambulance?

I am not saying that the VVVVVVVVVVIPs shouldn't get that kind of treatment, I am trying to suggest that if all the VVVVVVVVVVIPs can "donate" at least 1 police bike to assist the ambulance to clear the road, maybe hundreds of life can be saved.

The resources are there, but the distribution of resources are not properly distributed to those who need it so much.

I believe that something can be done here to address this problem. It's human life that we are talking about here. And for those drivers who are stubborn by not giving way to the ambulance, next time please bring your brain out, and put it in your head, not in your asshole.

Unlucky

My car was broken into near the parking lot of my office last Friday.

That fucker thief broke my car's front passenger window and got away with a drawer full of... syilling... which were not more than RM5 ONLY.

The consequences:

1. My happy-Friday-off-work mood was spoilt

2. I drove all the way to the repair shop with a smashed window and the passenger seat was full of window pieces

3. While driving to the car repair shop I created a small traffic jam because Malaysians tend to slow down and check out car with smashed windows, even though its non of their business

4. I spent RM120 to replace the window

5. And I spent another RM600 to install a full car window tinting which the shop's owner claimed as hard to break, which was never been proven

For the record, this is the 4th time my car was messed by the cibai thief.

1st case:

My car's CD player was stolen when I parked in a housing area in Alor Star. The thief managed to open my car without setting off the car alarm. Damage: RM700 to replace the CD player, which was thankfully covered by my dad.

2nd case:

My car's antenna was stolen near my office. Damage: RM70 to replace the antenna so that I can listen to my favourite radio station in car.

3rd case:

Do you know the small little rubber caps which you removed from your car tyres' air hole when you want to pump some air into your tyres? Yes, that small little cheap thing. I got mine stolen at the Sunway College, all 4 of them. Damage: Free, because I got 5 for free from a kind tyre shop owner near my house.

As a conclusion, I wish all the thief that messed with my car have a very small dick and their asshole shifted place from the buttocks into their mouth, so that they can eat their own shit every time they shit.

For those people who work late

A very considerate colleague of mine sent me this e-mail to remind me not to work late.
It's a story of a guy who worked late and something happened...
Here's the story:

Prior to joining a new company, this guy A was working at KL city.

In those tall building offices like KLCC and such, his office was quite high up the level at least 30 and above. Normally he will have to stay back for OT and in the evening, all the lifts will be stopped due to security reasons.

So whenever he wanted to leave, he will need to call the old security ah pek to activate the lift from ground floor to his level, then the uncle will send the lift up...

After sometime, he left the company and joined another place where his office also very high up in the building. Hence if he needs to do OT, also need to call security ah pek to send lift up.

Then it came the day that he's working OT for the first time at the new place. He stayed back till 12am plus and when he's about to leave, he called the security ah pek to send the lift up. After packing up he went to the lobby to wait for the lift.

He waited and waited. 10 minutes passed, Lift not up. He waited for another 10 minutes and called the security ah pek. S denotes security here.

A: Hello ah pek ah, have you send the lift up?
S: Yeah sent liao ma.
A: No leh I been waiting for 20 minutes liao leh.
S: No meh? Okie okie I send again.

Another 5 minutes went by. No lift came up. The guy got worried. He's the last person to leave and there's no one around. He called the ah pek on his handphone again.

A: Er... Ah pek ah, you sure you sent the lift up?
S: Yeah I sent it up twice liao leh.
A: But I saw the lifts all on the first floor leh!
S: Aiyoh. Never mind. I take the lift up and look for you.

Again, A waited. 5 minutes passed but none of the lift are moving. Then suddenly, his handphone rang. The ah pek voice was on the other side of the line sounding very weird.

S: CCB Where are you? ! I am here. But I cannot find you.

All this while A was staring at the display of the lifts. All at level 1... and the ah pek is here... shit something is not right.

A straight away chiong to the stairs and ran down the building...
When he reached ground level, he chiong to the security counter and he found out that...

He had actually called the old security ah pek in the building of his ex-company and not the security ah pek of his new office -_- He work till siao liao and was damn blur.

Feeling very pai seh, he also never call back to explain to the security ah pek from the building of his ex-company.

Poor ah pek. He must be the one who actually freaked out going all the way up and saw no one there...

Moral of the story: Don't work till becoming like sotong....

DYTM Raja Puan Muda Lailatul Shahreen Bougainvilla Garden

Yes, this is the garden's name which is situated in Kangar, Perlis.

Check out the name, I didn't cheat you right?

DYTM Raja Puan Muda Lailatul Shahreen Bougainvillea Garden.

Built by Majlis Perbandaran Kangar (MPK), this garden probably has one of the longest garden name in Malaysia. Obviously, it's name after DYTM Raja Puan Muda Lailatul Shahreen (I hope I get the name right).

MPK: A word commonly used whenever you are angry

This DYTM Raja Puan Muda Lailatul Shahreen Bougainvillea Garden is aiming to collect as many species of bougainvillea as possible from all over the world.

Lots of different species of bougainvilleas in the garden. I don't know how to differentiate the species of bougainvilleas but I only know how to differentiate it by the colors.

Bougainvillea is a type of flower which can be commonly found in Malaysia, the texture of the flower is similar to paper so sometimes its called "paper flower".

The garden is well designed and constructed to provide a good hang out spot and exercise spot for the Perlis people.

It was built at a hillside and there is a small cave called Cenderawasih Cave situated beside the garden.

Nothing special about the cave though except for some smelly bats' shit.

Looks like a stairs to no where

There is also a small stairs for casual mountain climbers to climb up to the hill top to get a bird's eye view of Kangar town. As I was fat and lazy to climb up so sorry, no pictures from the hilltop.

The stairs was officially opened by the ex Chief Minister of Perlis, Y.A.B. Dato' Seri Shahidan Bin Kassim SPMP. AMP.

Luckily they didn't name the stairs after him or else the stairs' name would be "Y.A.B. Dato' Seri Shahidan Bin Kassim SPMP. AMP. Stairs to Hilltop for a Bird's Eye View of the Kangar Town"

Just beside the stairs to hilltop there is something like a monument.

The monument was so badly vendalised until I cannot recognise what is that monument for. Inside the monument there is a metal plate with lots of Perlis royal family names written on it so I assume it was meant to be a royal family tree monument or something like that.

Some vandals who are being disrespectful of the royal family wrote some stupid stuff on the plate like: Ali love Ayu forever and ever.

I don't think the royal family will be happy to see this in their family tree.

The monument's pond was also a mess with lots of garbage and stagnant water in it.

Yucks... Looks like erm... processed foods

Are these marks made by mat-rempits or the gardeners with trolleys?

The garden is actually a nice place to be if it can be restored back to its original state.

The MPK should do something about this and the education department should do something to really discard the evil mindset of vendalism out of our Malaysian society.

Mini Putrajaya

Looks like Putrajaya right?

It's actually the Kompleks Dewan Undangan Negeri Perlis, no idea what's that, I think it's something like the parliament for Perlis government. I am not into politics, so don't blame me for not knowing this.

Until today I still cannot believe this huge and beautiful building is in Perlis, one of the smallest state in Malaysia.

It does looks fantastic.

But makes me wonder, do they really need such a big place to govern the whole Perlis? Perlis is just a very small state nia ma...

I hope they make goods use of this building and turn Perlis into the best place to live in Malaysia.

Perlis Stadium

When I was back in Perlis, I went to the Perlis stadium to have a look. I don't know why I suddenly had the feel to go visit the Perlis stadium, maybe that's the place of good old memory where I used to play with my homwtown friends a few years back.

Back then, when I was still a secondary school student, I used to go to the Perlis stadium with my friends to play football, although I suck in football, but I had lots of fun there.

The Perlis stadium is the most complete sports arena in Perlis, except for the usual main arena, there are lots of other sports facilities around like the swimming pools, hockey field, tennis courts, and the lawn ball field. Not exactly the facilities that can meet the Olympics standard but enough to meet the fulfill the Perlis people needs for proper sports facilities.

Remember the Terengganu state's stadium where it collapsed and everyone involved became kelam-kabut fingerpointing?

"Sir, the stadium just melted due to the hot weather, not my fault you know..."

The Perlis stadium is still there after so many years, don't play play ok.

I drove around the Perlis stadium to check out whether are they any changes after so many years, and it's a yes, lots of changes.

First of all, the GARBAGE.

Yes, although the Perlis stadium didn't collapse, but it was like a garbage site.

Maybe after a few years I won't be able to find the stadium because it's covered by tonnes of garbages.

Then, it's the problem of damaged facilities.

When I saw the facilities around the stadium I was very disappointed at how the management manages the facilities.

"Sir, the fence just melted, not my fault also..."

Quite ok but the rusted goal posts ruined it.

The only properly-managed facility is the tennis court, the rest were like sports facilities from Afganistan.

I wasn't able to check out the swimming pool because of time constraint but from what I heard from my friends it is still ok, hopefully my friend was right.

But overall the stadium is still ok, the main arena is properly maintained and the roads are better than those in KL.

Singapore (May 4, 2009) : A secretary bit off the private parts of her boss in a freak accident during their sex romp in a car.

The incident happened in a car park in East Coast Park in Singapore over the weekend.

Kuala Selangor Fireflies

Situated more than 60km away from KL city, Kuala Selangor is famous for its seafood and one of the most special tourist attraction in Malaysia, Kampung Kuantan.

What makes Kampung Kuantan so special is not some fancy theme parks or huge shopping malls, it's because of fireflies, lots of fireflies.

At first I don't understand why so many people traveled from different places just to see fireflies, it's just an insect with a glowing ass. People told me that it'll be a nice scene in the night with lots of glowing fireflies, so being curious I went to the place and try to figure out why people wanted to see fireflies' glow-in-the-dark asses so much.

The Kampung Kuantan is actually a small jetty beside a mangrove swamps which is categorized as a forest reserve by the government.

I think the place is sponsored or supported by Tenaga Nasional Berhad because upon entrance there were many signboards with the company's logo on it.

A RM10 ticket entitle you for a boat ride around the swamps in the night to see fireflies. I bought my ticket and line up together with a lot of people.

The line was going forward very very slow as the boats are powered by men with paddles instead of motors, this is to prevent disturbance to the fireflies on the mangrove trees caused by the water waves and sound from the motorboats.

I waited for more than an hour because some Malaysians acted like Malaysians. And Malaysians are notorious for cutting the queue, popular tactics include acting like you know someone in front of the line and cut queue, once they got a spot in front they'll call over all their family members including the grandpas, grandmas, uncles, aunties, brothers, sisters, children, mother in laws, father in laws and many more to join them in front.

And if you ask them properly not to cut queue, the whole family will look at you as if you are some kind of moron from Mars.

While I queue I noticed that there were some signboards warning visitors not to disturb the fireflies by doing something like flashing the torchlights, using flash cameras or catching fireflies.

One particular signboard caught my eyes, written on it was a fine of RM1,000 will be imposed for catching fireflies, the fine is even higher than littering. Looks like the government is serious in protecting this place.

After a long wait I finally got my life jacket and got on the boat, the boat was a small sampan to be precise.

The man maneuvering the boat was actually a fisherman who work in the night for extra income. He controlled the boat quietly through the swamps by using two wood paddles, no loud noise or big waves in the water, really professional, if it was me I would have created a tsunami.

The boat glided smoothly through some of the mangrove trees where lots of fireflies lit up the whole tree like a Christmas tree.

It was a nice scene to behold. The light weren't exactly as bright as light bulbs but in total darkness it's like stars in the night sky.

At first I thought there were only a few trees with fireflies but I was wrong, the entire area was full of fireflies, sometimes you can see some fireflies flying around the trees.

It was really a special scenery, you don't get to see these large amount of fireflies lighting up in other places.

I tried to take some photos (without flash one ok) to share it here but failed because it was too dark.

I think it's time for me to buy more Toto so that I can win RM1 million and buy a proper SLR camera.

KL Tower

KL Tower, also known as Menara Kuala Lumpur is located in the heart of KL city.

Being 421 meters tall, it is the fifth tallest telecommunication tower in the world as at the day I posted this post. It is said that its purpose is to enhance the quality of telecommunication and the clarity of broadcasting, I've no idea how it can do it but I know that we Malaysians can proudly hao lian the achievements of our country to other people by saying: "Don't play play, we have the fifth tallest tower in the whole world ok..."

I seriously don't know how long the KL Tower is going to hold its place as the fifth tallest tower as there are so many countries out there, being kiasu, trying to build the tallest tower in the world. So I recommended that if the KL Tower is out of the top ten tallest towers in the world, the government can build another taller one in Perlis. We have a perfect spot at Seriab there, beside the Mini Putrajaya.

Being so free during one weekend I visited the KL Tower, it's very easy to reach as all you have to do is follow the tower and find the road. Believe me this method works as I've tried using this method to find KLCC and Komtar in Penang as well.

A couple planning to get married some 400 meters high, that's special

The ticket price was a bit expensive for me but we Malaysian citizens have special discounts by showing our identity card during purchase.

The lift to the observation deck is a special one as it shows the current height you've reached.

Once I've reached the observation deck, the whole KL city view was in front of my eye. You can see the city view 360 degrees as the observation deck is one whole floor of the tower.

The day I went there the whether wasn't so good and the city was covered in clouds and haze, I think the view will be more beautiful if I visit on a bright sunny day.

The KL Tower also provided free powerful binoculars around the observation deck so that we can see other people making reproduction activities in the hotel rooms nearby.

On the observation deck there were lots of shops selling overpriced food and souvenirs. A corn in a cup was selling at RM3 per cup, sorry, small cup and yet there were lots of customers willingly to pay a premium so that they can have an experience of eating corns so high above sea level. Definitely not worth it.

When I came down from the tower and went to take my car, I saw lots of monkeys around the car park and I managed to take some photos of those cute little things.

I think the car owner left some bananas inside the car.

Putrajaya Seafood Restaurant

Putrajaya, being an administrative center or city for the Malaysian government maybe the last place on earth to hunt for seafood, but for me it is one of the best place to enjoy the sunset view while you dine.

Putrajaya Seafood Restaurant is situated right beside the Putrajaya lake, to be honest, it's quite hard to find it. You have to drive all the way into some kind of botanical garden with no proper roadsign or signboard to lead you to the restaurant, not to mention that all Putrajaya roads are almost identical.

When I reached there around 7pm, there were some guards chasing people out of the botanical garden, this is because when night falls a lot of couples make it a free place to carry out human reproduction activities.

If you are so unlucky and questioned by the guards you'll have to tell them you are going to the restaurant or else they'll kick you out.

The food at the restaurant was OK for me, so if you regard the high price you pay is for the experience of dining with the sunset lakeview, you'll be sort of happier.

I don't know why, we Malaysian Chinese love to gamble a bit during CNY.

Some gamble until they lose all their money and underwear, for me I just gamble for fun so I just "invested" RM8 on gambling.

Using mandarin oranges to put on top of your "investment" will increase your luck.

Flashback: My working experience in Hush Puppies Genting

When I was studying in UNITEN, we students used to have a long 3 months holiday if we don’t want to take up special semester. I am not a fan of special semester because it’s was a complete waste of time and money. There were only 8 hours of class time per week during special semester and yet we had to pay the apartment rent and other living expenses.

So instead of wasting money, I decided to make money during one of the 3 month holidays. At first I was thinking of working part time in Kangar as I don’t have to worry about accommodation and transportation problems, but the salaries there weren’t “encouraging” enough.

Just before I decided to stay at home to "shake legs" for 3 months, my friends suggested that I try looking for sales job in Genting Highlands. They said that the pay was good and the employers usually provide accommodation within walking distance to the work place. So I quickly bought a bus ticket to Genting Highlands to try my luck.

The First World Plaza

I decided to look for a job in one of the shop lots inside First World Plaza, a shopping center in Genting Highlands and I was lucky to find a job as a part time sales assistant in Hush Puppies.

Hush Puppies is an international brand of contemporary, casual footwear for men, women and children. The price range for the shoes can easily reach RM300 because of the high quality of the shoes. So not all poor people like me can purchase shoes from Hush Puppies.

Why a sad-looking dog as the logo?

At first I don’t think that my workload will be high because I thought that not many people will buy shoes in Genting Highlands. Although the price of the shoes is the same with other Hush Puppies outlets throughout Peninsula Malaysia, but I thought that people come to Genting Highlands to play roller coasters, or to gamble, not to do some shopping.

But turned out I was wrong, the shop was full of customers during holidays or weekends. Most of the customers were foreigners as they have greater buying power compared to Malaysians. Usually tourists from the Middle East or China were rich and they won’t be bothered by the price of the shoes.

During my 2 months working life in Hush Puppies, I served many weird customers and I can still remember a few until today.

I once served an auntie from China who had trouble choosing the right size and color of the shoes that she liked. Size 6 was too small for her and size 7 was too big, to add on her misery, she also cannot choose the right color for the shoes. So she ended up very tulan and bought all of the shoes. All size 6 and 7 and all the color of the shoes that she liked. She paid all the shoes with her platinum credit card and walked out happily.

There was also a customer from Middle East who bought 15 pairs of shoes amounted to thousands of ringgit. I don’t know why he bought so many shoes but I know that he’s damn rich. Maybe he got oil wells behind his house.

Hush Puppies did have a small amount of local customers when I worked there, most Malaysian customers bought shoes there because they had to. Some bought shoes because their shoes were spoilt during their holidays in Genting Highlands. And the most frequent local buyers were all the ah pek who wear sandals or slippers to the casino. The casino prohibited sandals and slippers so the ah pek had to buy shoes from Hush Puppies. They usually picked the cheapest shoes in 5 minutes and headed straight to the casino.

Not everyday is peak season for Hush Puppies, during weekdays when only a few customers came in, I usually just sat there with my colleagues chatting or commenting on every passerby. And when we were really bored, we did some stupid things, we played hide and seek in the storeroom, we went to kacau the pretty salesgirls next door, or even went to toilet many times just for the sake of loitering around the plaza.

Even though we had to bear with smelly feet and smelly shoes all the time but it was fun working with a bunch of fun colleagues. There was no politics inside the Hush Puppies working environment because our salaries were fixed and not based on commission basis, we don’t have to fight against each other for commission.

By far this was the most fun job I’ve ever had, I don’t have to crack my brain for the job and the working environment was great. But it was just a part time job, I earned some extra pocket money and it’s time to move on.

I hope my job can be as fun as this. ;-)

Food at Cameron Highlands

At first I thought that the last thing I'll look for at a tourist attraction like Cameron Highlands is good food. But surprisingly, Cameron Highlands has some good food for food lovers like me.

An advice, you don't go to those overpriced places such as the Boh Tea cafe at the Simpang Pulai tea farm to eat, they sell the view of the place, not the food. The food is not so delicious there.

But be careful though, some people used a lot of sugar and fake strawberry paste to produce the ice cream instead of real strawberries.

Besides the strawberry ice cream, you can also go for other junk food such as fried mushrooms, fried flowers (I have no idea what kind of flower is but I know it's delicious), fried beans, and the famous sweet potato balls.

And if you are looking for a proper meal in Cameron Highlands, a shop located in Brinchang is a must. The shop is actually at the back part of the town so you need to look for it.

It sells traditional chinese food like "Char Siew", noodles, and other chinese dishes. I like their Char Siew noodle the most.

The price is a bit expensive and the noodle is a bit oily, but everytime I go Cameron Highland I cannot resist the temptation of their Char Siew, it is just too good. Some say the chef worked in a restaurant in Hong Kong before he came to Cameron Highlands to open his own shop. Whatever, I only care about the Char Siew.

A lot of people are crazy about the steamboat in Cameron Highlands, they said it's the best in the whole Malaysia or something like that. But for me, steamboat is the most unreasonable meal in the whole world, because you pay so much and yet you have to cook your own food, stupid right?

All the steamboats taste almost the same, they just pour in some hot water or chicken soup in the pot and you cook your own food in front of a hot and steamy gas stove.

Please pay RM100 million and please cook on your own

Although it's a stupid way to spend on a meal, the steamboat shops in Cameron Highlands are always full of people during weekends or holidays. Maybe they think that they can cook better in Cameron Highlands.

During my hunt for food in Cameron Highlands, I saw some breads and papayas in one of the souvenir shops, then I wondered why the hell are they selling breads and papayas in souvenir shop. As a very "ke po" person I went to have a look.

Cheated.

They were fakes. CCB, I nearly took a bite.

Cycling at Shah Alam Botanical Garden

It's been over a decade since I really go cycling. I used to cycle to school during my secondary school years because the school is near to my house.

Cycling in a morning is a pleasant thing to do, imagine the cool morning breeze on your face and a road with not much traffic that will run you down. But cycling after school in the afternoon or whenever it's raining is not a pleasant thing.

With so many years of cycling back and forth to school and tuition centers, I used to have some muscles on my legs one, don't play play.

But since I got my motorbike license and car license, cycling is the last thing I want to do, you know lah, lazy ma, some more not cool if your friends are riding a motorbike and you are cycling like hell behind trying to keep up.

Since I started work I noticed that I no longer have my leg muscles, and I am slowly turning into a Michelin Man. So in order to return to my glory days, I decided to give cycling a try at the Shah Alam Botanical Garden.

The Botanical Garden is basically erm... a botanical garden with lots of trees, flowers, hills, and ponds.

When I got my bicycle I was amazed that the bicycle was equipped with 21 gears, and you can shift up the gears using a button, like a sports car using paddle shift gearchange, si pek high tech. I still remember the time my bicycle was equipped with only 10 gears and it was the best in Kangar already...

At first I thought that the roads in the botanical garden was flat and straight, too wrong.

If all the roads were like this...

The road was kind of steep uphill and I had a hard time cycling up, even with the lowest gears. I cycled like half an hour and I am too tired to go on, so I had to admit that I am no longer as fit as before and came down from the bicycle and push the bicycle uphill.

So embarrassing whenever there were people riding past me on a uphill road, damn.

I made up my mind already, whenever I am free on a weekend I'll go cycling or swimming, to exercise so that I can be as fit as Arnold.

These stupid papers are the legal way used by the government to collect money from you whenever they ran out of money.

In order to kapit that piece of chee-bye paper on your car windscreen, the government will have to build less parking spaces and parking ticket machines in a very populated area. For example, there will be only 5 parking lots in an area with 5 billion shops and offices.

This piece of paper is called parking offence ticket, or saman (Malay).

Until today, I already got 6 samans in 6 different places all over Peninsular Malaysia, all for parking offences such as:

1. Didn't show my parking coupons, tickets or whatever it is on my car dashboard (Different places different payment system, how the hell am I suppose to know?!)

2. Park at a yellow-lined roadside (Because there were not enough parking spaces available)

3. Park beside a road junction (Dangerous, I know, but imagine youself finding a parking space for more than 1 hour in a busy town, I'll say you have a very good patience if you keep finding)

4. Didn't pay for my parking fee (I got no coins ma...)

See... I have good reasons for all my offences. I don't understand why the enforcement bodies keep penalizing us normal citizens for minor offences whereas there are so many robbers, snatch thiefs, rapists, car thiefs or cold-blooded killers out there who live happily ever after?

Among all the samans that I got, the one from the Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya remains the most chee-bye saman.

First of all, it was the longest saman I've ever got, I don't know why they wanted to print such long saman with all the contents of a law book printed on it. Stupid act number 1.

I got that saman because I parked at a yellow-lined roadside. Ok I admit that it's my fault because this may cause foerign investors to have bad impression on Malaysia thus causing a major economic downturn, but isn't it a bit too much to ask for RM100 for a parking offence? I can watch 10 movies at the cinema with that amount of money you know?! Stupid act number 2.

And one more thing, I think the people from the Majlis Bandaraya PJ who saman me must be stupid or he was sleeping while working, because he keyed in my car colour as unknown (tidak jelas). WTF?! Stupidest act ever.

Zoo Negara Malaysia

On one weekend I got so bored so I decided to go to the Zoo Negara (National Zoo) to check it out.

It's been more than 10 years since my last visit to the Zoo Negara, I still remember my last visit to Zoo Negara was with... erm... the standard six graduation trip? kua...

The zoo is managed by a non-governmental organization which is fully funded by only gate receipts and sponsors, so it didn't change much since decades ago, imagine how much food the animals needed, maintenance fees, workers salaries and macam-macam costs, they've already done a good job maintaining it until today and still managed to breed some endangered animals and add in some new animals.

So here are some of the pictures that i took in the zoo. I am not a zoologist so I don't know the exact names of some animals.

See, my biology isn't that bad right, at least I managed to recognize all the animals.

The zoo also has free animal shows for to the visitors, but the shows are basically the same many years back. Parrots tricks, sea lions jumping here and there... How I wish that I can see Penguins flying a plane, just like in the movie Madagascar 2, that'll be fun.

Nonetheless, the show was still a hit among the visitors with the mini stadium fully packed.

Sorry for the blurry photos, I was late for the show because I got lost in the zoo and had to settle for a seat way behind the mini stadium.

Snorkeling trip at Tioman Island

I went to Tioman for its famous underwater scenery, even though I wasn’t able to view those beautiful underwater scenery during my first diving trip, I managed to get what I want during my snorkeling trip the next day.

Me and Amy got a contact from the hotel receptionist and soon got ourselves a boat and a tour guide. We mentioned to the tour guide that we wanted to see beautiful fishes and corals, luckily he was more than happy to bring us to some of the nice snorkeling spot.

The tour guide brought us to 3 different places to snorkel for the whole day trip. We snorkeled around some of the small islands off the main island where pollution was at a minimum level.

The crystal clear water was really nice as I can still see the white sands a few meters in the water. There were also a lot of beautiful corals but too bad I cannot afford a underwater camera... if you really want to see the corals of Tioman Island, please google it.

Once we jumped into the water the fishes were swimming towards us, at first I thought there were welcoming us but later on the tour guide told us that the fishes were waiting for humans to feed them.

I took some biscuits I bought and in no time all the fishes were swimming towards me. The fishes had no fear towards humans and soon my hand which was holding the biscuits was surrounded by fishes trying to have lunch. It was like the fishes had been starved for a billion years.

If you are holding the food I suggest that you let it go, because sometimes those fishes can't really tell which one is food and which one is your hand. I got bitten a few times because I was holding the food for too long.

Snorkeling in Tioman is definitely a must if you have the opportunity to visit Tioman.

And the other thing you must do at Tioman is to buy alcohols and cigarettes because Tioman is a free tax district in Malaysia. A can of Heineken beer is only RM3, you can drink till you drop at Tioman.

My first diving experience in Tioman Island

After much considering, I decided to try diving after hearing so many fun things about it from my friends. I don’t want my first diving experience to be in a dirty sea so Pangkor Island is definitely out, so I went to Tioman Island since I have never been to there before.

Located 32km off the Peninsula Malaysia, the journey to Tioman Island wasn’t a good experience. First of all, I had to drive all the way to Mersing, the ferry port for almost all Tioman travelers, and took a ferry to Tioman.

Sounds simple, but I had a three and a half hour ferry ride in choppy seawater, plus one very very very tiny seat, lousy air-cond system, and a lot of noisy ah-bengs who were trying to make all Malaysians in shame in front of a lot of foreigners. Imagine that and you can feel how sien I was in the ferry.

When I reached Tioman it was already 3pm, so without wasting more time, I faster checked into my booked hotel. The name of the hotel is Barbura Seaview Resort, not exactly five star ratings because I wanted to save money for my first diving experience.

The diving centre is just beside my hotel, run by a Japanese who prefer working at the beach than in air-conditioned office cubicle.

I forgot how much I paid, but my diving trip included watching a DVD as a lesson in the diving centre and an experienced guide who will guide me during the dive.

The DVD lesson which nearly made me fall asleep, but quite informative

After the lesson, the guide went through what I had learnt from the DVD and let me try on all the gears and familiarize with it before going in. The guide also taught me some important hand signals to be used such as showing middle finger if other people accidentally pull of your goggles in the water.

After everything was done, we swam from the beach to the middle of the sea, and dived in.

As a first timer, I was a bit kelam-kabut in the water, I couldn’t control my floating and was either went too low or too high in the water. I think the guide was also a bit kelam-kabut when he couldn’t find me.

Too bad I don’t have a waterproof camera, if I got one then I can show you how funny I was in the water.

The place where I dived doesn’t have much corals or pretty fishes because it’s just a training ground for first time divers. If you want to see more pretty corals and fishes, you have to take more lessons and of course, pay more so that the diving centre can ferry you to other places.

I don’t have the money so I just resort to the lousy underwater view.

After nearly one and a half hour of diving, I had to head back to the beach because I was left with not much oxygen in my oxygen tank.

It was already 7p.m. when I reached the beach.

It was quite an experience for me as I never done this before. If I got the money, I will definitely take the entire diving course and get myself a diving license.

Lucky Valley

I studied in Muadzam Shah for 5 years but I never heard of this place called Lucky Valley until my final year of study.

Lucky Valley's Chinese name - 乐居岭

My friends who have been there told me that Lucky Valley is just a few kilometers away from Muadzam Shah and they said that I should go there and take a look because it is kind of special. They also told me that many city folks like to go there during weekends to meditate. My first reaction was: “Meditate???!!! In the middle of the jungle?!”

So out of curiosity, I decided to go there and check it out.

The bumpy road to Lucky Valley

The entrance to Lucky Valley is not a proper road, it is covered with rocks and mud. What makes the journey even harder is that the road is the combination of many steep uphill and downhill slopes. Obviously the road was made for four wheels drive vehicles like Mitsubishi Pajero, but the curiosity to find out about the place made me continue the journey with my mom’s SLK (Super Little Kancil).

4 people in a Kancil, driving on a road like this wasn’t fun. After a long bone-cracking journey we finally arrived at the gate of Lucky Valley. To be honest, the gate looks creepy, it’s like the entrance to an old castle.

When we arrived, there was nobody there. So we decided to look around. There were small offices, a canteen, a nice lake and a hostel, which were all empty. Weird thing was that all the doors were not locked. Maybe they think that no thieves will want to steal things in the middle of the jungle.

We walked around the compound and thought that there’s nothing special, just a school-like facilities where people meditate by the lake. So we decided to go somewhere else to discover the place.

We drove deeper into the compound of Lucky Valley and found something amazing.

We were excited and quickly went down to take some photos. I got to admit that the place was peaceful and a perfect place for the meditation “kaki”. People can meditate outside to enjoy the fresh air in the jungle and when it’s raining or too hot, they can continue meditating inside the building.

We were amazed when we got inside the building. It was like an air-cond room even though no fan was turned on, I couldn’t figure it out why, the heat from the outside never reach into the building.

Too many jargons, if you understand please explain it to me

A quick look around inside the building and we found out that this place got something to do with magnetic field. Meditating inside a good magnetic field for the body can achieve peace of mind blah blah blah… I don’t understand the reason because I studied accounting, but as a conclusion it’s good for u lah.

A few hundreds meters away from the building is a small deer farm. I don’t know whether the deers were meant to be food for people or as pets. But if there were raised for their meat then they were not lucky enough to be in Lucky Valley.

GEORGE TOWN: Do not be surprised if a Malay or Indian policeman stops you on the street and speaks in fluent Hokkien.

This is because Penang police have been offering a Hokkien dialect course to their personnel.

State police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Wira Ayub Yaakob said a three-month course had been drawn up to teach the personnel better communications skills, especially in a state where Hokkien is widely spoken.

He said the first batch of 35 policemen of various races had already gone through the course which started in August and ended recently.

Another lesson, to be carried out by a professional tutor scheduled to be held thrice weekly, will start in November.

“Most people in Penang speak Hokkien. However, the ratio of Hokkien speaking policemen and the population in the state stands at 1:6,000 and this is not good.

“By having the Hokkien lessons, there would be better communication between the police and the people,’ he said at a press conference to announce his appointment as Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (Penang chapter) deputy chairman.

DCP Ayub said the rapport between the policemen and the public could indirectly grow closer when they are able to speak confidently in the dialect.

“The policemen and officers, especially the young ones, will be sent for such training so that they are able to converse in the dialect,” he said.

He said they would also try to rope in language experts from Universiti Sains Malaysia to conduct courses in other languages, so they can communicate with tourists.

Well, this is interesting, it's a good thing for the cops to learn another language because this undoubtedly can help them communicate well with those uncles and aunties who cannot speak Malay or English fluently.

But what happen if you are stopped by a cop who tries to get duit kopi (bribe) from you for speeding 1km/h more than the speed limit of 35km/h?

You (Winding down your car window): Soli la boss, I kejar masa ma, boleh bagi chance tak? (Sorry boss, I was in a hurry, can you give me a chance?)

You then happily wind up the window and get away without a three hundred Ringgit speeding ticket. On the other hand, the cop get away with fifty Ringgit tax-free extra income.

Some called this an investment of time and money as you don't have to find free time to queue up behind a long queue and pay the three hundred Ringgit speeding ticket.

Learning Hokkien will definitely help the cops and the people to communicate easier in Penang as most of the Penang people speak Hokkien.

Example shown above is a bad way to use Hokkien by the cops, I hope that the cops can be more efficient in their real job after they master Hokkien, helping us normal people to fight crime, like Batman, Superman, Ultraman, whatever it is.

Pangkor Island

Pangkor Island is one of the most early developed island tourist destination in Malaysia. It has been very famous among Malaysians but I never have the chance to visit it until Susan offered to bring me, Amy and Shianlin around Pangkor Island.

Susan’s hometown is in Setiawan, which is just a few kilometers away from the Lumut jetty, so she’s been to Pangkor a few times before. Furthermore she offered us to stay at her house so that we can have some good rest from tiring drive before going off to Pangkor. A tour guide in Pangkor and a free place to stay before and after our Pangkor trip, I cannot find a reason to say no to Susan’s great offer.

We departed from Lumut jetty to Pangkor. Lumut is the navy army base for Malaysia, there were some navy vessels along the coastline to erm... scare away pirates.

Pangkor is a combination of a fishing village and tourist destination, there are no major roads in Pangkor so the best way to get around Pangkor is to rent a motorcycle. Four of us rented two motorcycles and went straight away to our hotel.

After checking into the hotel, we straight away went for a snorkeling trip because we don’t want to waste time taking bath and pang sai in the hotel.

To be honest, the snorkeling trip sucks.

The Pangkor water was already polluted by the vast amount of fishing activities and tourists. When we reached a small island just off the main Pangkor Island, we were promised by the guide that there will be a lot of nice fishes to see during the snorkeling trip. But what I can see during the snorkeling trip was polluted water, TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT.

However, some fishes were still visible through the water, the fishes were not as colorful as seen in the Pangkor travel brochures but we were glad to be able to see some living things inside the polluted water. I was amazed at how those fishes able to survive in the polluted seawater.

While I was snorkeling around the polluted water trying to find something nice to see, something more amazing happened. I saw my university mates coming on a boat.

Pangkor Island is still one of the famous tourists’ destinations in Malaysia, but the pollution level there scared most of the tourists away, for example, ME. So here’s another request from me to the government of Malaysia: Do something before it’s too late.

Weird fruits

I found a lot of hawkers and shops selling this weird fruit all around Cameron Highlands.

It’s a combination of Cameron Apple and honeydew.

It looks like an apple but with strips on it, and the flesh of a combination of apple and honeydew.

I got no idea what’s the name of this new fruit, I only know that it’s delicious.

The Cameron Highlands farmers can be very creative in developing new fruits, maybe next time they’ll come up with a fruit called “Durange” (Durian + orange), orange-like flesh and tastes like durian… Yucks.

After some si pek troublesome processes of registering myself for my own convocation on 23rd August 2008, I finally can go on stage and receive my degree certificate after a 5 years wait.

I woke up at 5.30a.m. that morning to prepare myself for the convocation ceremony, brought my parents to have breakfast at the nearest McDonald’s at 6.30a.m. and arrived at UNITEN Bangi, sorry, UNITEN Putrajaya at 7.30a.m. sharp.

I thought I was already late when I finally arrived at the registration counter around 7.45a.m. after the some stupid guards asked me to park my car a million kilometers away from the hall, but all the graduates only arrived after 8a.m., way behind the schedule, typical Malaysians.

The coordinator had a hard time asking all of us to register ourselves and queue up to enter the hall as all of us already started to take photos and chat around. Only after the coordinators became tulan and shouted at us then only all of us started to move into the hall, typical Malaysians.

After entering the hall, the Chancellor of UNITEN arrived and the convocation ceremony started. We sang our national anthem Negaraku and the UNITEN anthem. I don’t know what the name of the UNITEN anthem is, I can only sing according to the lyrics shown from the projectors.

The ceremony kicked off in a truly Malaysian style: Loooooooooong speeches by the VIPs. I think they were trying to make us graduates sleep rather than give us some advices and motivations. Luckily we were allowed to bring in our cell phones and cameras, almost all of us graduates cannot tahan the long speeches and went on to do our own stuff like chatting with each other, text messaging and taking photos. I did all that and I only managed to stay awake for a while only.

After the Loooooooooog speeches, finally its time for the REAL convocation ceremony. Too bad the ceremony was also damn boring. I just sat there watching other people going up to the stage, bowed to the Chancellor, received the certificate, and then going down the stage. After watching a few hundreds of people doing the same thing over and over again, I wished that some people fall down on the stage so that I can have a good laugh.

Finally after a long wait, the coordinators asked our Accounting Degree batch to get ready to go on stage. I was then fully awake and had a rush of adrenalin wanted to go on stage badly to receive a piece of paper that I’ve been waiting for 5 years.

Half an hour later my name was announced, I walked on stage with an average speed, trying not to fall down or else I’ll be the hot topic of UNITEN for the next 1 billion years. I walked towards a marked spot where I had to bow to the Chancellor, I bowed cin-cai-ly as I don’t want my not-so-tight mortar board to drop. Then I walked towards the Chancellor, shook hand with him, said thank you, received the certificate, turned over and smiled to the camera with a smile that I’ve been practicing for a long time, and then walked down the stage with a relieve that I didn’t mess it up.

I thought I made it perfectly, not until I received my photos the next day…

I smiled stupidly.

Shit.

After I walked down the stage, I was so nervous that I needed to pee. Just as I am going to walk past the door, a coordinator stopped me and said that I am not allowed to go to the toilet.

WTF, where can stop people to go to pee one? I don’t know what their reason is for this but I bet it’s got something to do with keeping the crowd in hall so that they won’t lose face to the VIPs. Luckily I have an exceptionally well-functioned bladder to keep my “yellow tea” in store for more than 5 hours.

I then got back to my place with a tulan face and open the certificate book to check out my own degree certificate.

As I told you, UNITEN is a very “FINE” university.

The certificate I received from the hands of the Chancellor was actually a warning letter where UNITEN will FINE us if we return our academic robe late. The original degree certificate will only be given to us after we returned the academic robe in a good condition.

More detail and precise than accounting standards, don't play play

The warning letter stated very clearly the FINE structure where we’ll be fined RM5 per day for returning the academic robe late. I think it’s even clearer and easily understood than the accounting textbooks I used to study.

What a FINE university and what a FINE way to end my UNITEN days.
